Historical Downtown Walking Tours

The City Museum invites locals and visitors alike to join a Historic Downtown Walking Tour this summer season. All tours begin at the City Museum and end at Alaska’s Capital Inn. Tours last about 90 minutes and run weekly from May through September.
Historic Downtown Walking Tours are a fun way to learn about the history and the changing landscape of downtown Juneau. Come hear tales about prominent Alaskan figures and Juneau families from experienced local guides. All tours include free admission to the City Museum, a 20% discount in the Museum Store, and teatime at Alaska's Capital Inn, the restored gold rush era home of John Olds. Walking tours take place rain or shine, and involve moderate activity, including stairs and inclines.
Summer season tours begin Tuesday, May 8th, and run every week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday through September 20th. All tours start at 1:30pm at the City Museum and last about 90 minutes. The cost is $25 for adults and $20 for ages 12 & under. Reservations are recommended, and tickets can be obtained at the Museum, through the Museum’s websiteor at the JACC.
