3 finalists for CBJ Community Development Director position to participate in Assessment Center

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau is close to hiring a new Community Development Director.

Three candidates will take part in an Assessment Center Thursday, according to City Manager Rorie Watt.

He said on Action Line that a  meet and greet event for the public  is set that day from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Assembly Chambers at City Hall.

There are  two internal candidates, Brenwynne Grigg and Jill Maclean.  The other finalist is Tom Williams from Gustavus.

The person selected will replace Rob Steedle who is retiring.

Prior to the meet and greet  the candidates will be participating in an Assessment Center, which Watt says is a series of exercises designed to mimic situations that a candidate might encounter if they were hired into the position.

    They are scheduled from 8:45 to  10:45 a.m.;  11:25 a.m. to  12:55 p.m.; and 1:30  to  3 p.m.

The exercises are open to the public and will be held in Assembly Chambers.
