$30,000 worth of drugs seized

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) A 24 year old California man is facing second degree felony drug charges after authorities said they seized 51 grams of methamphetamine at a ferry terminal.

    A dispatch from Alaska State Troopers' Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit in Ketchikan stated they arrested Peter Riveranieves at the Inter island Ferry Authority in Ketchikan prior to him boarding a ferry headed to Prince of Wales Island.  The bag allegedly contained the methamphetamine and $2,826 in suspected drug cash.

    The dispatch said Troopers arrested the suspect later when he tried to board a flight for Seattle from the Ketchikan International Airport Tuesday.

    The Ketchikan Airport Police assisted with the investigation.
