A Tribe Called Red headed to Juneau - Native Culture meets Electronic Dance

    Juneau, AK (KINY) - Juneau will host the electronic powwow group "A Tribe Called Red" on Thursday in Centennial Hall.

    The DJ group combines traditional Native sounds with electronic rhythms and effects. Opening for the act is Native dance group Woosh.ji.een.

    The group comes from Ontario, Canada, with each of the three members having native connections. A Tribe Called Red promotes inclusivity, empathy and acceptance amongst all races and genders in the name of social justice.

    Tickets can be bought at the Sealaska Heritage Store, the Juneau Arts & Culture Center, and Hearthside Books. Premium tickets are $35, while the price for children is $5.
