Juneau, AK (KINY) - Alaska Airlines has announced that it will no longer be making flights from Los Angeles to Havana, Cuba after Jan 22nd.
This comes as a response to serving markets with higher demand. The last flight to Cuba is planned for January 22nd, 2018. Those aircraft currently doing that trip will be redeployed elsewhere to meet market demand.
About 80% of those taking that flight benefited from a US allowance for individual "people to people" educational travel. Changes to US policy last week eliminated that allowance. The flight to Havana only started in January of 2017.
Those who booked a flight to Havana after January 22nd will be rebooked on another airline at no additional cost or offered a full refund.
