In this week's Republican address to the nation, Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska discusses the economy and criticizes President Obama's record.

Senator Sullivan says Washington can do better, "We have a moral imperative to recognize that we have experienced a lost decade of economic opportunity and we have to change this."

Sullivan says the average annual gross domestic product growth rate in America has been nearly 4-percent. "The Obama administration's annual rate has been about 1.5 percent; in fact they've never even hit 3 percent GDP growth in one quarter."

The senator, while acknowledging the nation's lowest unemployment rate since before the financial crisis, noted some other metrics that have fallen behind during the Obama presidency. "During nearly 8 years of the Obama Administration, the number of Americans participating in the labor force is now at its lowest rate since 1978."
