Alaska woman murdered, husband charged

Willow, Alaska (KINY) Michael Kilgo, 59, is charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife.

The body of Hattie Labuff-Kilgo, 56, was found Tuesday, three miles from where Alaska State Troopers located her vehicle.  She had traveled to Petersville on Saturday and hadn't been seen since.

A dispatch from Troopers said Mr. Kilgo was also charged with felony tampering with evidence.  The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma.

Co-workers called authorities when Mrs. Labuff-Kilgo failed to appear for work.  The vehicle was found on Petersbille Road about 35 miles off the Parks Highway.

Mr. Kilgo is being held without bail to await a court appearance.
