Anchorage has interest in Amazon

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Some business leaders suggest Anchorage should make a bid today to have a major employer come to town.

It is not likely as the company has put out specific needs for the new corporate offices.
Amazon is getting interest from cities across the nation to locate a second headquarters in their jurisdictions.  Bids are due today in Boston, Massachusetts.  Toledo, Ohio, Tulsa, Oklahoma,  Denver, Colorado,  Albuquerque, New Mexico, Birmingham, Alabama, and many others are expected to make proposals.

Despite the interest from some, there will be no formal bid from Alaska.  Amazon required a metro area to have at least 1 million residents in order to submit a bid.
