Anchorage police chase and shoot at alleged robbers

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Two men were arrested Monday for allegedly trying to rob two coffee stands in Anchorage.

    Anchorage Police said they located a suspects vehicle, got into a high speed chase, and exchanged shots with the suspects.   The Caffe D'Arte and the Heavenly Cup in southeast Anchorage were the targets of the robberies.

    Eye witnesses provided a description of an SUV used in the robberies and a chase ensued.  One police officer was treated for minor injury when his patrol car struck a light pole during the chase.  The police were able to box in the suspects inside the vehicle and make the arrest without further injury.

    The names of the two men arrested were not immediately released.
