Anchorage police seek man suspected of ramming patrol car

    31-year-old Taming Ting Jr. was being sought on a warrant when he fled from police early Wednesday.

    ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Anchorage police are seeking a man suspected of ramming a patrol car and fleeing from officers.

    Police say 31-year-old Taming Ting Jr. had been sought on a warrant when he fled from police early Wednesday.

    A pickup reportedly used by Ting was spotted just before 3:30 a.m. in west Anchorage.

    The pickup stopped for a stoplight on International Airport Road at Minnesota Drive and an officer blocked it with a patrol car.

    Police say Ting, behind the wheel of the pickup, rammed the patrol car and sped off at high speed. Police broke off a pursuit.

    The officer in the patrol car suffered minor injuries.

    Police found the pickup abandoned 45 minutes later.

    Police say Ting is being sought on charges of assault, eluding and criminal mischief.
