Anchorage, AK (KINY) - A student's online threat involving a Snapchat of guns in a case and a warning about coming to school resulted in the arrest of a minor in Anchorage.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the minor was arrested after posting a photo of guns in a store case, warning others to stay away from school on Thursday. Students ended up calling the police on Wednesday and officers were quoted praising the kids for doing the right thing.
The student who made the threat was arrested on Wednesday evening and taken to the McLaughlin Youth Center in Anchorage. Charges were sent to the state's juvenile justice system. Police said that the threat did warrant those charges, even though it was determined that no school were imminently threatened.
The identity of the student, the school, or the specific charges was not revealed due to the student's age.
