Put on the purple for A Royal Affair, a Prince-inspired fundraiser benefiting SEAGLA and Juneau Pride 2016 at The Rendezvous Saturday night at 9:00.

    Some highlights include:

    - Costume contests, with prizes
    - Prince dance-off, with prizes
    - Great music from DJ Danomite
    - Fun and welcoming drag queens and kings
    - 10% of bar sales benefitting Pride 2016

Must be 21 or older to attend.

James Hoagland with SEAGLA, the Southeast Alaska Gay and Lesbian Alliance, talked about the fundraiser and event while guest on Capital Chat Friday, "Pride is a week long festival here in Juneau. It's the third year we've done the week long celebration and it's the celebration of all things lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. We actually join the 4th of July Parade and we have a pride contingent for that. During Pride Week, we have our annual picnic at Sandy Beach, a kickball game, a huge drag show with stars from Rupaul's Drag Race, a hike and a bonfire, and we do a service day, where go and work out on the trails and cook breakfast at the Glory Hole. We do all kinds of stuff, so there's something every night of that week and it takes a lot to put that on."
