Boy dies, others injured in highway crash near Houston

HOUSTON, Alaska (AP) — A two-car traffic crash killed a boy and injured others on the Parks Highway near Houston.

He's  identified as Noah Meyer, 11 of Palmer.

Alaska State Troopers took a call on the crash shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Troopers say a northbound pickup driven by 20-year-old Kole Denevan crossed the centerline at Mile 53. He was with an adult passenger.

A car driven by 57-year-old Mark Meyer of Palmer with three juvenile passengers was southbound.

Troopers say Meyer attempted to avoid a collision as Denevan attempted to correct and the two vehicles crashed.

The boy in Meyer's car suffered fatal injuries and was ejected.

Troopers say multiple people in the crash were transported to hospitals with what they believe are non-life-threatening injuries.
