CBJ Docks and Harbors Board of Directors conducts annual meeting

    CBJ Port Director Carl Uchytil provided details to News of the North following the yearly meeting.

    The CBJ Docks and Harbors Board of Directors conducted it's annual meeting Thursday night.
    According to Port Director Carl Uchytil, several items were on the agenda.

    "The board elected Tom Donnick as chair and Bud Simpson as vice-chair. The board took action to approve acceptance of a $2 million municipal harbor grant from the state. The board also heard an update to Phase 3 of the Statter Harbor master plan - which is a for-hire float - and approved. The board also heard updates from Bob Janes and Paul Voelckers on a proposal for a Juneau cruise ship passenger transportation hub. The board provided guidance for staff to engage CBJ engineering to determine the feasibility of such a project. An update was also heard for the Auke Bay Marine Station application, which is an application that will be submitted for acquisition of the old NOAA lab through a court conveyance program.

    Uchytil also noted that the new chair and vice-chair had held the same positions in the previous year.
