Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ Planning Commission met Tuesday night and unanimously approved a conditional use permit for the development of a 32-unit condominium complex on a vacant lot in Auke Bay.
The condominiums would be a mixture of two- and three-bedroom units. The project is located within the Auke Bay Center area. The approval hinges on the developers, Garrett Schoenberger and Paul Simpson, conforming to seven requirements.
The owner of the Auke Bay Station Condominiums, which is currently under construction and located behind the proposed condominiums, previously testified that the proposed development, The Jetty, would block views of Statter Harbor.
Schoenberger said he was relieved at the commission's decision.
Shannon Crossley and Kenneth Alper were also sworn in as new members of the commission.
