The Juneau Chamber of Commerce was pleased to see the Assembly this week approve an update to the local land management plan.

Vice President Elect Eric Erikson also chairs the business group's Government Affairs Committee.

"I think that this is a good thing," began Erikson. "Obviously, it's kind of related to housing in Juneau as well. It's a plan that should be periodically reviewed because it's an important part of our community. I think something that came out of it for me is that it's recognized as a guideline for land use and something that can be reviewed periodically, so you can go back and make changes as needed and it can be more of a living document. I was glad that was brought up to speed, and hopefully we'll see some use of city lands."

Erikson made his comment on Action Line this week.
