Constantine Metals gives update on Haines deposit

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Liz Cornejo, a representative of Constantine Metals, told the Southeast Conference that her company was in the exploration stage for copper, zinc, silver, gold, and Barite in 2018, which is used in the oil and gas industries.

As to the Palmer Deposit near Haines, Cornejo said there was an increase in the mineral resource from 8 million tonnes to 14 million tonnes.

The company is currently exploring the construction of an underground tunnel at the property. Cornejo said the proposal has been submitted to government agencies for approval.

The deposit is located west of Porcupine Road near Glacier Creek.

The tunnel would provide greater exploration at greater depths, Cornejo said. She added that the company is committed to “environmental stewardship.”

A preliminary economic assessment regarding the Palmer Deposit is ongoing, Cornejo added.

"Critical going forward is more drilling to help us get there," Cornejo said. "The way you get more confidence in the viability is to drill more holes, which is what we'll be doing a lot of."
