Cope Park Access During Construction Update

    Construction continues at Cope Park, but it's once again accessible to the public.

    Construction continues at Cope Park, but it's once again accessible to the public.

    Vehicular access to the park will remain closed until further notice, but pedestrian access is currently allowed.

    According to a press release, the utility work is now complete, and current work is focused on lighting, pathway, and parking improvements, preparation of the tennis courts for asphalt surfacing, and installation of new play equipment.

    The release also states that anyone who walks through the park should be cautious and avoid active construction areas.
    The park is scheduled to reopen on September 1, 2016.
    Other nearby parks include Capital School Park at Fifth and Seward St., and Chicken Yard Park at the corner of Sixth St. and  Kennedy St.
