Dallas Seavey still fighting Iditarod

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Dallas Seavey challenged the Iditarod Governing Board to prove the doping allegations against him and said those involved in tarnishing his name should resign.

The Alaska Dispatch News reported the Iditarod Trail Committee announced last October that urine samples taken from four of his dogs at the end of the 2017 race tested positive for the painkiller, tramadol.  It is the first drug violation reported in the race since 1994.
Seavey released a statement through a public relations firm he has hired.  In it he said the ITC has failed to conduct proper analysis and due diligence prior to making the allegation against him, "It is not only wrong, but unfair to the sport, the mushers, the dogs and the Alaskan community."
Seavey has repeatedly denied he or a member of his crew gave tramadol to any of the dogs.  He has suggested sabotage.
