Driver injured in Prince of Wales rollover accident

    Klawock, Alaska (KINY) - A 20-year old driver is recovering from injuries sustained after a high-speed crash in Klawock.

    On Friday night at 7:30 p.m., Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island responded to a single vehicle roll-over near 6 Mile Craig/Klawock Highway.  

    An investigation revealed a 2006 Kia driven by a 20-year-old Craig resident was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the highway.  

    The driver was transported off-island for suspected serious injuries.  

    Speed and alcohol are both believed to be contributing factors into the crash.
