Drug bust in Ketchikan

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) Three arrests were made after a pound of methamphetamine and small amount of other narcotics were seized during police searches in Ketchikan.

    Police said an ongoing narcotics investigation led them to execute search warrants at two residences.  Officers stated they seized $16,465 in cash, a .44 magnum Taurus revolver, an AR-15 assault rifle with armor piercing bullets, one pound of methamphetamine, 2.75 ounces of heroin, 2.55 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

    Police arrested Arthur Castillo, 31, Loretta Garcia, 52, and Alfonso Sandoval, 31 on October 3.  Charges include two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.  Mr. Castillo was also charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree. 

    All three were held in jail with no bail awaiting a court appearance.
