Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The State Board of Education and Early Development will meet on February 4 in Juneau, originating from the first-floor board room at 801 West Tenth Street in Juneau. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to hold a work session and a business meeting.
Topics at the work session include a review of the department’s FY2020 operating and capital budgets, a legislative update, a discussion on regulatory processes, regulations to go out for public comment regarding grade 9 math sublevel scores and teacher certification basic competency exams, adoption of regulations regarding school facility planning and construction and school facility commissioning, a review of the accreditation determinations for the University of Alaska Fairbanks and University of Alaska Anchorage educator preparation programs, and an executive session to discuss the selection of the student advisor to the board.
