Egan Drive construction update

    The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities says with dry weather in the forecast SECON will continue paving work on Egan Drive. There will be single lane closures and detour access to Mendenhall Loop Road.

    The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities says with dry weather in the forecast SECON will continue paving work on Egan Drive Saturday, July 30.

    Construction is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday nights between Mendenhall Loop Road and the McNugget intersection. There will be single lane closures and detour access to Mendenhall Loop Road.

    Drivers are reminded to use extra caution when navigating work zones and follow all traffic signs.

    The Alaska Department of Transportation is working with Secon to rehabilitate the pavement of approximately 8 miles of Egan Drive, from Mendenhall Loop Road to 10th Street. The project includes repaving Egan Drive, installing new guard rails and liners in deteriorated culverts, replacing the Lemon Creek Bridge rail, and updating the pedestrian facilities to meet ADA standards. Work is scheduled to be completed by September 2016.
