Famous reindeer dies

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) A reindeer known to walk the streets in Alaska's largest city passed away this weekend.

Star the Reindeer died Saturday.  She was 15 years old.  The owner Albert Whitehead posted a note on her pen after some exercise with the deer on Saturday.  He said the deer had died in his arms.

Whitehead took Star on a short walk and she collapsed after returning home.  Whitehead says she spent her last days hanging out and eating her favorite treats, such as grapes and Mini-Wheats.  Star was an Anchorage staple for both local residents and tourists.
