Fatal crash in Wasilla

    Wasilla, Alaska (KINY) A drunk driver could have caused a death in Wasilla late Wednesday, Alaska State Troopers said.

    William Brucher, 35, was charged with DUI after the crash on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway.  Troopers said he was driving a sport utility vehicle westbound near Skip Circle when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck another SUV head-on.

    Brandy Reed, a passenger in the second vehicle, died at Mat-Su Regional Hospital after she was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated.

    The investigation into the crash continues, Troopers said.
