Federal Assistance headed to Utqiagvik for September Storm

Juneau, AK (AP) - Federal help is headed to the northernmost community in the U.S. after President Trump approved a disaster declaration.

A storm from September 28th to the 30th saw high winds and storm surge that damaged roads, infrastructure and cultural sites and caused flooding in parts of Utqiagvik, formerly known as Barrow.

Walker issued a state disaster declaration for the region last month.
