Ferry Columbia delayed

    The Alaska Marine Highway System ferry MV Columbia is delayed due to a mechanical issue with the vessel's starboard engine.

    The Alaska Marine Highway System ferry MV Columbia is delayed due to a mechanical issue with the vessel's starboard engine. The ferry is currently docked at the Petersburg Ferry Terminal.

    The situation requires technicians to be flown from Houston, Texas to Petersburg to diagnose the problem and assist with repairs. At a minimum, the ferry will be delayed approximately 36 hours.

    AMHS staff is contacting all affected passengers to amend or cancel travel itineraries. The sailing schedule is currently being revised and will be posted online.
