Fisherman accused of running from Troopers

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A local fishermen was allegedly fishing in the wrong spot and then gave Alaska State Troopers and false name and birth date in August.

    A dispatch from Alaska State Troopers in Juneau said Julien Piccard, 40, was observed sport fishing at DIPAC, the Douglas Island Pink and Chum on August 23.  Troopers said Mr. Piccard indicated he did not have a sport fishing license and did not have any identification on him.  He then gave them a false name and date of birth.  During the incident Piccard allegedly ran away from the Trooper.  Troopers were able to talk to his associates and learn his true identity.

    Piccard was arrested on September 24th by Juneau Police for the incident.  He was booked into the Lemon Creek Correctional Facility and held on $210 bond.
