Franklin and Front Streets Reconstruction Project public meeting Thursday

    JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ is in the design phase of the Franklin and Front Streets Reconstruction project.

    Phase 1 includes Admiral Way and South Franklin Street from Manila Square to the intersection with Front Street.  Construction for this phase is planned for Spring 2017.
     
    There will be a public meeting Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Treadwell Room at the Baranof Hotel.  The project history will be described, as well as specific design elements (including lighting, utility improvements, and new sidewalk layout. Plus there will be discussion on construction plans for this phase of the project.

    For those on the west side (Red Dog side) of Franklin Street, the design includes small profile, under canopy lighting in lieu of light poles on this side of the street.  These under canopy lights will be installed and maintained by CBJ, and all electrical costs will be paid for by CBJ.  Each property owner on this side of the street will be contacted to work through lighting agreements or if your property is on this side of the street you can call the project engineer to start this process.
