JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers say a Good Samaritan hiking on East Glacier Trail in Juneau notified them Saturday evening, that another hiker was stranded on the north side of Nugget Creek.
21 year old Emma Renly of Juneau had crossed Nugget Creek earlier in the day to hike, but when Renly retuned to the creek in the afternoon, the water level was too high to safely cross, and due to the steep terrain in the area, she was unable to continue.
Renly did not have communication with Troopers and relied on the Good Samaritan to relay the information.
Juneau Mountain Rescue responded and safely escorted Renly across the creek and back to the trailhead. No injuries were reported.
