Hard landing leads to float plane rescue

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) 7 people avoided serious injury in the incident at Dora Bay off Prince of Wales Island Friday.

    The Ketchikan Fire Department reported that mechanical problems led to the crash landing of the float plane.  Six passengers and the pilot were onboard.  Units from the North Tongass and South Tongass Fire Department were dispatched to meet the plane at the Taquan Air docks.  They evaluated two passengers and transported them to the hospital with minor injury.

    The Ketchikan Police Department, and Taquan Air in Ketchikan also helped in the rescue.
