Juneau beats Sitka in Junior Division All Star game

Juneau’s 13 and 14 year old Junior division All Stars are a win away from taking the southeast Jr. Division title.

Sitka’s Dom Bachoco singled to lead off  the Junior Division All Star game between Sitka’s All Stars and Juneau’s All Star teams, but that single and resulting run scored would be the only hit and run Sitka would muster as the Juneau all stars went on to win 11 to 1.

Larry Snider with Sitka Radio Center reported Brock McCormack pitched three innings and Olin Rowson pitched two more to combine on a 1 hit shutout. The game ended in the bottom of the 5th, with a walk off balk call on Sitka relief pitcher E-Man Barragan. Ryan Bartlett who started the game on the mound for the Sitka Jr. Division All Stars earned the loss. Bartlett walked 6 batters and hit two batters in his 1 and 2/3 inning pitched.

Offensive stars for Juneau were Gabe Storie who was one for three with three RBI’s and a run, Cristian Ludeman who went two for four and scored twice, and speedy Luis Mejica who drew two walks and singled and scored three times. So Juneau’s 13 and 14 year old Junior division All Stars now are a win away from taking the southeast Jr. Division title. Game two of the best of three championship series is Wednesday night at 6:00. Hear it live on Sitka Radio Center's 1230 KIFW.
