Juneau man could change plea in drug case

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A Juneau man, Christian Peters, is scheduled to appear in court December 4 for a change of plea hearing for a charge of drug conspiracy, court records show.

Mr. Peters,44, and Tiffany Spaulding,34, were arrested August 6th after a joint investigation between Juneau Police and U.S Postal Investigators.  The arrest affidavit by U.S. Postal Service inspector Aaron Behnen said they found the 221 grams of methamphetamine in a coffee jar.  They also located 50 pills of oxycodone.   The affidavit said the package had 'characteristics commonly used by narcotics traffickers.'

The package apparently had been sent through the U.S. Mail.  Mr. Peters was tied to the package by physical evidence.  Authorities also seized drug paraphernalia, scales, and a computer from a local residence.  A trial date for Spaulding was also set for December 4 before U.S District Judge Timothy Burgess.
