Douglas, Alaska (KINY) Police said Rafael Flores, 53, broke into a home with the residents inside around 11:30 pm Wednesday.
Video surveillance footage of the burglary on Douglas Highway helped break the case. He was taken into custody late Thursday night.
Under $750 in items were taken in the burglary and no one was injured, police added.
Flores will face burglary in the first degree, theft in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.
Sgt. Ben Beck said they were also able to tie Flores to a second residential burglary that was reported on January 26.
Flores will face the same charges, burglary in the first degree, theft in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree for that incident.
Flores was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional to await a court appearance.
