Juneau Police thanks community for support after Dallas tragedy

Police say flowers, comments, phone calls, and emails are representative of the close bond that exists between the Juneau Police Officers and the People of the City and Borough of Juneau.

The Juneau Police Department is thanking the community of Juneau for the many expressions of support and condolences received after the tragic events in Dallas and around the country this past week.

Police say flowers, comments, phone calls, and emails are representative of the close bond that exists between the Juneau Police Officers and the People of the City and Borough of Juneau.

A recent JPD post quotes the words of Sir Robert “Bobby” Peel, the founder of modern policing: “The police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.”
