Juneau tied the record high temperature of 82 degrees Monday, but showers are on the way Tuesday evening.

Meteorologist Geri Swanson with the National Weather Service in Juneau provided this report to News of the North:

"The airport tied the record of 82 degrees set back in 1947.", said Swanson. The average temperature for that day is 67.

Temperatures today should be warm, in the 70's, but according to Swanson, increasing clouds will keep us from reaching that 80 degree mark Tuesday.

She also says we'll probably see some scattered showers beginning Tuesday night and rain in the forecast beginning Thursday.
