Utqiagvik.Alaska (KINY) Ronald Fischer faces 99 years in prison after the verdict in the murder trial.
Fischer reportedly became violent after he encountered the victim, Brian Sullivan, 47, at the home of his ex-girlfriend and shot him twice in the face with a shotgun. The jury found him guilty Thursday of seven counts that include first degree murder, second degree murder, third degree assault, fourth degree assault, resisting arrest and violation of conditional release. He is expected to be sentenced on April 6th.
Authorities said Fischer was out of jail at the time of the shooting, He also had been ordered by a judge not to make contact with the woman, Mabel Kaleak, 37. who was not injured in the shooting. In the interim Fischer is being held without bail.
