Ketchikan man shot and killed

    Prince of Wales Island, Alaska (KINY) Alaska State Troopers report an arrest was made in the shooting at a lumber camp.

    Brian Stanton, 64, was shot to death at the Phoenix Logging Camp on Wednesday morning.  The dispatch from Troopers said Timothy Murphy, 26, allegedly confessed to the crime and made several incriminating statements to employees at the logging camp.
    The dispatch went on to state that Mr. Murphy was charged with one count of murder in the first degree and was held at the Craig Jail without bond to await a court appearance.  No information was released on what might have motivated the shooting. 
    Troopers went on to state that investigators were on the scene all night Wednesday to conduct an investigation.
