Dillingham, AK (KINY) - Troopers are investigating the cause of death of a hunter that hadn't returned.
According to Trooper dispatch:
On Wednesday evening, Troopers in Dillingham received a report that an overdue hunter in the village of Koliganek had yet to return. Jairus Nelson, 24-years-old, left the village on foot to go hunting earlier that day. A team was quickly put together to search for Jairus. A few hours later, his body was located about two miles from the village.
Investigation continues and no foul play is suspected. The body will be sent to Anchorage for an autopsy. Next of kin have been notified.
