Lost hunter found safe

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A hunting buddy is an important thing to have in Juneau.

A Juneau man was found safe and sound Monday morning after he didn't return to his hunting partner Sunday on Lincoln Island about 17 miles northwest of Juneau, Alaska State Troopers reported.

Matthew Coppick, 37, was late getting back to his friend, Josef Roters, 36 of Juneau, who reported the incident to the United States Coast Guard after he fired several shots to try and alert his friend about his location.  An all out search began that included the USCG search vessel, two Alaska Wildlife Troopers fixed wing aircraft, and two SEADOGS search teams.  Coppick was spotted about 12 hours after the initial report on the east side of the Island and was found to be in good health.
