Lost Juneau hikers walk out on their own

    Hikers lost on West Glacier Trail reach safety on their own Four hikers who were lost on West Glacier Trail Monday afternoon eventually found their own way out after contacting Alaska State Troopers.

    Troopers received a 911 call shortly after one o’clock, but the person’s phone died before Troopers could call her back, according to a Trooper dispatch issued Tuesday.

    Members of Juneau Mountain Rescue, SEADOGS, and Capital City Fire Rescue responded to the area.  At about 4 p.m., the four women made their way down the trail and met authorities at the trailhead.

    No injuries were reported, according to the Trooper dispatch.

    The hikers were identified as Ravynn Teague of Oklahoma, Tiffany Pittman of Florida, Dilyara Akhundov of Ohio and Sena Salem-Bazar of Juneau.
