Juneau Mayor Ken Koelsch advises citizens to go easy on the fireworks this summer:

"I would ask the citizenry to lay off the fireworks. We have a time, it's called the Fourth of July, and I don't think anybody gets too bent out of shape if fireworks are on Fourth of July or the third of July. When they go off now, it sounds like gunfire and we're a little bit cautious and leery. Pets go scattering all over the place. We will definitely want to follow up. It's illegal. Don't do it. Please! Have a little respect for people that live in your neighborhood."

Juneau Mayor Ken Koelsch was a guest on Action Line Friday.
