More details on police shooting

Seward, Alaska (KINY) Alaska State Troopers released more details on the fatal shooting of a man by Seward Police.

Troopers said the fatality began as a traffic stop in a shopping plaza, became a drug investigation, and then the attempted theft of the police car.

Officer Matthew "Eddie" Armstrong allegedly found drugs on the suspect Micah McComas, 41, of Chugiak, handcuffed him and placed him in the back of the patrol car, Troopers said.  Mr. McComas somehow got into the front seat of the vehicle and was attempting to drive off when the officer pulled his revolver and fired at the fleeing vehicle, killing him.

Troopers said they are continuing to investigate the shooting.
