Morphet to run for House

Haines, Alaska (KINY) Haines Borough Assemblyman Tom Morphet filed to run for the northern Lynn Canal house seat currently held by Sam Kito.

Five candidates will vie to replace Kito who announced he would not run for re-election.  In the Democratic primary Morphet will be opposed by Douglas residents Steven Handy and Sara Hannan.  James Hart, a democrat, did not list an address.  The winner of the Democratic primary will oppose independent candidate Chris Dimond in November.
