Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Juneau Crime Line / Crime Stoppers announced it has re-established a telephone Tip Line for Juneauites to call if they have vital information that may help law enforcement agencies fight crime in our community.
The number to call is (907) 523-7700. Callers to the new tip line can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given is instrumental in leading to an indictment or arrest of an individual wanted in connection to a crime. A tipster’s initial call or web tip must be made to Juneau Crime Line / Crime Stoppers to be eligible for the reward.
Calls received on the Crime Stoppers TIP LINE do not show caller ID and conversations are not recorded. Information is gathered from the call and then passed on to the investigations unit. A caller wishing to remain anonymous can pass on pertinent information without the prospect of retribution. The cash rewards offered by Juneau Crime Line / Crime Stoppers, encourage reluctant callers to provide information.
The newly established TIP LINE is another way for concerned citizens to report tips to the police. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the organization’s website juneaucrimeline.com. Both the TIP LINE and the juneaucrimeline.com online tip program are available to encourage citizens to volunteer vital information that may be helpful in fighting crime.
Juneau Crime Line / Crime Stoppers is a local non-profit group comprised of all-volunteer Juneauites. The organization relies on its Board members and tax-deductible contributions from the public to operate the administration of the program. This initial year’s TIP LINE phone expenses have been generously funded by Southeast Mine Supply.
