New empowered Aquatics Board sees rise in revenue

There was good news to report on the work of the CBJ Aquatics Facilities Advisory Board on Action Line Wednesday.

Parks and Recreation Director Kirk Duncan told us on Action Line:

"Sales are up, and attendance is up. We had a meeting Tuesday night, and we often talk about having about 100,000 people using the pools. Right now, with our new point of sale information system, it looks like we've got about 140,000 people using the pools. We've also seen a similar rise in revenue, which is up about 30%. We've lowered the prices and got more people in. I think the Aquatics Board is just doing a great job."

The new empowered Aquatics Board started its work a year ago July.
