New Juneau Assembly to organize

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The new Juneau Assembly organizes when it convenes Monday night.

Two incumbents, Jesse Kiehl and Maria Gladziszewski, were re-elected and newcomer Rob Edwardson was elected October 3rd.  They will be sworn in to office.

Mayor Ken Koelsch was asked on Action Line Friday how he will proceed with organization.  "I go ahead and send out an email asking each Assembly member to respond with their one, two, and three committees they want to be on.  And then also the enterprise boards and the commissions they would like to be considered for.  When we get all those pieces, we'll put the puzzle together."

He was  asked how Assembly priorities might change.  He said they will probably will be 90 percent of what they were the year before, but they'll know more when the Assembly conducts its retreat.

The retreat is scheduled for  Saturday, December 2 beginning at 8 or 8:30 a.m.   A location has not yet been finalized.
