New school board to pick officers after election

JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) - Two new Juneau School Board members will be elected October 4 to take the places of Barbara Thurston and Lisa Worl who opted against re-election.

Board President Brian Holst was asked on Action Line Monday when the new board will organize.

"The October meeting takes place on the 19th, a couple of weeks after the election. At that meeting, the seven board members choose their officers: president, vice-president, and secretary."

When asked if he was interested in serving another term as president, he responded that it was up to the will of his colleagues, but that he certainly would consider it.
