New Years Eve Winter Storm Coming to Southeast Alaska

Southeast Alaska could have a big change in the weather with four to eight inches of snow coming tomorrow and New Years Day.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Pete Boyd says the weather service has issued a winter storm watch for Southeast Alaska.

Boyd says the cold arctic air that has been over the panhandle over the past few days is going to have a warm front boundary coming through it with a fair amount of moisture.  The weather service has issued a graphic to show the areas most likely to have snow accumulations.

Boyd says this is a developing weather pattern so there will be more updates coming from the national weather service over the holiday.
