No student injuries in school bus accident

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) 16 students on board a Juneau school bus were not injured after an accident due to icy roads Tuesday afternoon.

A dispatch from Alaska State Troopers said a 2002 Honda CRV operated by Ashleigh Rich, 19, of Juneau, lost control near a bend in the road at Goat Hill.  She collided with the bus near the intersection of Mendenhall Back Loop Road and Joann Way.

Capitol City Fire Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Ed Quinto said all of the 16 students on board the bus were evaluated and sent home on another bus.  Some parents came to the scene to pick up their children.  The bus received minor damage but the Honda was a total loss.

Troopers said Rich suffered minor injuries.
